Who is accountable for this colosal disaster and threat to our own existence? •
Repost from @nasa - August 2019 is continuing an active Amazon fire season, with large and intense fires burning in the region. NASA satellites tracked actively burning fires across South America and captured images of smoke in the last week. So far, in 2019, the region is experiencing more fires, with more intense burns, than in recent years.

Hard to believe it’s been three whole years since we launched Kogi Coffee Australia. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who helped us and gave us a go throughout and especially to the Kogi and Nasa growers for allowing us to bring a little piece of indigenous Colombia to Oz.
Lots of love.

Repost from @errolrainey - A Kogi tribe member with a handful of dried fish.
We were pretty high up on the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, and I’ve got two of my best friends from my childhood with me (Kirk and Sandy) and a few new friends too. @sandy.mclennan who got me on the project brought some dried fish to give the Kogi as gifts. Our friends at @kogicoffee (who got us access and guided us) told us that the fish reminds them of the time they used to live by the ocean, before the Spanish invasions began. The Kogi are peaceful, so they didn’t stay to fight, they fled to the mountains instead, where they still reside, in what they call the heart of the earth. Anyway after handing the gifts to the tribe, we managed to trade a live chicken for the remaining dried fish. We’d been semi vegan for a week, so a bit of meat seemed a great idea. Sandy is a great cook, but this chicken had been around the block and was tough as nails due to it. None the less, we ate it, and apart from the extra chewing, it was lovely. Nothing goes to waste on top of a mountain, and everything seems to taste better. Had some amazing meals up there. The Kogi trip was up there with the best trips of my life. The Kogi have some very wise words regarding life, probably even wiser than the translations we were given, which were wise enough.
